I’ve been meaning to write this post since last week…so I’m showing up late rather than not at all…we did practice last week and Rob joined us for week two & did a fine job holding his own without much direction other than what key to be in - sink or swim method - he’s swimming In the deep end!
It feels great to have the additional layer of music, harmony and creative input. We know we have a lot of ground to cover to revisit all our songs with Rob & Bob trading leads and licks. It’s a fun part of the process, like making a favorite recipe but with an extra ingredient that takes it to a different dimension.
Time was spent on a new jam that’s been spinning in Bob’s head called “From the Sun.” Think Jim Morrison meets Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas & that’s the vibe we are going for: Trippy Hippie, Rain Dancin’, Peyote Praising, Dust Raising groove. I’ve still got to lock in my lyrics but the melody is solid and we’ve got good foundation to build on.
We are starting to look at booking dates for next year too, so we are adding more songs so we can fill three hour slots. We’ve got some real smokers picked out - can’t wait until they are crowd ready!!
This week I am thankful for patience, divine timing & perfect order and that everything always comes together exactly as and when it is supposed to.
