Have you ever known a person who can't seem to say anything nice? They don't even realize that everything they say is negative and that other people don't want to engage with them because they bring them down. Bob likens them to rain on a parade. (side note: he would prefer that it only rained at night or when you were sleeping, like Camelot.) Tonight we starting working on a new, jazzy song about these buzz killers - title still to be determined...we threw out "Debbie Downer" but dismissed it so we don't disrespect anyone named Debbie. Bob suggested "Rain is Stupid" but we really do like rain - just not really when we are supposed to play an outdoor event or when there's supposed to be a parade, or sporting event, or we're camping or at the Hop Fest...."Why oh Why" or "Oh My" could be pulled from the lyrics....which will explore both sides of the negative disposition - giving Eeyore a voice too.

One of my favorite books is the Tao of Pooh, by Benjamin Hoff, he uses the familiar Winnie-the-Pooh characters to explain Taoism...(Just Be). I'm also named after my aunt Robin, whose name was inspired by my grandfather's favorite story book character, Christopher Robin. So while I have a profound fondness for all of the characters in the 100 Acre Woods & a respect for the roles of all the archetypes, I feel challenged to defend Eeyore while also completely identifying with Bob and how miserable it is when all someone does is complain.

Our words are our wands and carry a specific vibration which is why we should chose them so carefully! There's so much weight to the adage "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." or Dale Carnegie's teaching: "Don't Criticize, Condemn, or Complain" & the 1st of the Four Agreements "Be Impeccable with your Word", I could go on and on....point being: please don't harsh our mellow - instead tell me what you are Thankful for.
