The lyrics for "Talk to God" speak about a profound darkness associated with a toxic relationship and feeling as though things are out of control and you've hit rock bottom. We have all experienced some level of disappointment, heartbreak or feeling forsaken. It's at those points that some will look to a higher power for guidance, because they've lost touch with their internal guidance and ability to hear, trust and take action based on their own intuition. I think many people can relate to the desperation of being on their knees, crying out - begging for a turning point & the strength to take back their personal power.
My experience of overcoming abusive relationships has led me to a life of trusting in Divine Order and Perfect Timing. The idea that we are being led by a Supreme Intelligence, can provide a feeling of reassurance and allow us to extend our faith beyond our own beliefs in our personal abilities. I believe that we are all Divine creations with infinite potential. We all have a direct line to the God of our understanding, and have access to all the collective wisdom and Love in the World.
"Talk to God" is about knowing with great authority that you need to 'Let Go and Go On' perhaps better stated: 'Let Go and Let God.' It is about ending and beginning, surrendering and reclaiming, releasing and receiving. When we are ready, we can see things for what they are & whenever you Talk to God - you will be heard - just make sure you are listening when they talk back.
PS. It's also a reference to a line from one of my favorite movies "Empire Records"...."I talked to God. She says 'What's up?'"
