Long Strange Trippin’

Band practice tonight started out with our Electric set, with Bob wailing out gritty guitar leads on his DuoTone, an absolute bruiser - its electrification is catchy & pulls you right in.

We soared through our list and after playing every song in that key, Bob starts playing a new one he’s been working on in his porch sessions, called “Teach Me.” Inspired by songs like Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “I know a little” & The Allman Brothers Band “Southbound,” the conversation veered off to Bob telling us he saw them open with it in CA at a concert he went to for $10 & I’m pretty sure I heard Hugh tell Dan he saw Led Zepplin for $15 - street value of those experiences: priceless!!

“Teach Me” fits in nicely with “Hound Dog” & “Sugar in my Coffee” - you’ll be up dancing to it or if you’re a toe tapping, head nodding, sing alonger, you’ll be doing that too. We will debut it at the Apple Fest - come catch us at Brown’s Harvest Farm in S. Windsor, CT Sunday Sept 26, 12-3pm. We will post more details soon - it’s a family friendly farm festival, so we hope y’all can join us!

Thanks to our fans on the shore of Amston Lake, It was fabulous seeing your fires and hearing your cheers during our jam this past Labor Day weekend. Cheers to all our Lake people fans!!

This week I’m thankful for perfect late Summer weather, for farms & festivals & family fun & for all the lessons I’ve been taught on this long, strange trip I’m on.

What are you Thankful for?
