It’s full blown Summer Storm season, tonight was another Severe Weather Warning Wednesday but it didn’t deter us from our regularly scheduled event. Practice started with a run down of the set list from last nights show in New Haven with the Tedeschi Trucks Band that Dan and Bob braved a storm to attend. After some techie talk about their guitars, amps, organ, etc. & supreme admiration for their stripped back style we got into our own groove. It’s an understatement to say that their sheer talent and dedication to their art is something that inspires us all & gives us a high bar to aim for.
Hugh brought a new acoustic bass to try out the sound & it was a really nice tone, so nice Bob kept turning him up. Don’t you just love a good bass line?! We’re working on a great funky bass part for “Cat named Dog,” it’s such a fun song to sing! It’s one I’m certain will be a crowd pleaser once we get to play it Live. Another reflection piece from 2020 talking about a Cat named Dog (she kissed a lot of frogs) & Dude named Blue (he knows just what to do)…

Tonight I was surprised with a new Shure mic to try out. Has way better pick up & much better sound than my retro one - such a nice treat!! If you ever want to do something nice for Bob, get him a gift certificate to SweetWater! He’s always finding sweet gear from them & it’s wildly appreciated!
Tonight I’m thankful for all wheel drive & wipers that work, for musicians who tour and come to CT & for rainbows after storms.
What are you Thankful for?
