Tonight was a full house and productive evening at the Revival Studio. Dan’s rocking steady on the drums with Hugh holding down the bass line and the multitalented Lisa Rich joined us on her beautiful Rory Block acoustic guitar, adding to the open tunings with rhythm, harmony & percussion. We ran through our set list mixing newer songs with some older ones. We worked on “Snake” for the first time since we recorded it & revisited “Thief in the Night” for the first time in over a year.

While we still have a few recordings to complete & Debbie Grey’s video is pending the footage I need to create - it feels nice to shift into practice mode. To work together as a group and find our sound. There’s a deep sense of satisfaction that comes from Being part of something that’s bigger than just an individual. Synergy ( the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects) is one of my favorite experiences. Together we can create more.

Together we can lift each other up & reach heights that alone would be inconceivable. All it takes is each of us playing our part, using our talents & bringing out the best in each other. The result is harmony, symphony and joyful noises - the sounds of Thankful Souls.

This week I’m thankful for everyone doing their best, for time to practice what I preach & the topiary gardens across the street from the Studio that remind me Love is all around. 💚🌳
